Background of did Sir George Williams 2

Worked as --> a draper(clothing-goods) businessman.
first learned about the draper trade in Bridgewater,Hitchcock and Roger’s drapers shop in St Paul’s Churchyard.

When did he accept Christ( is this growing up process?)
--> He first learned in Bridgewater "to love the Lord and Saviour for what He had done for us" Williams said."I was on the downward road.Cannot I eacape?Is there no escape?They told me in this town of Bridgewater how to escape - Confess your sins , accept Christ , trust him and yeild you heart to the Saviour" Williams commented"I cannot describe to you the joy and peace that flowed into my soul when I first saw that the Lord Jesus had died for my sins, and that they were all forgiven."

From that moment on, Williams’ motto became: ‘It is not how little but how much we can do for others’

Aim of founding the YMCA
--> to bring Jesus Christ into the lives of young people who had, like himself, moved to the city in search of work.
Appalled by the terrible conditions in London for young working men, he gathered a group of his fellow drapers together to create a place that wouldn't tempt young men into sin. That place was the YMCA.

Buried at
--> Sir George Williams is buried in St. Paul's Cathedral.

place of birth
--> Williams was born on a farm in Dulverton, Somerset, England.

His Last words
-->His very last words, which he spoke while at the 1905 World YMCA Jubilee, were: "...if you wish to have a happy, useful, and profitable life, give your hearts to God while you are young." He was then carried to his room and died.
